IF I CAN’T DANCE, I DON’T WANT TO BE PART OF YOUR REVOLUTION
With winter weather upon us and holidays on the horizon opening-up quiet, downtime for reading, December is dedicated to If I Can’t Dance publications!
To celebrate 20 years of If I Can't Dance, we've put together a special book sale. Alongside many of our titles offered at a reduced price, we're also releasing rare printed matter from our archive, items that are usually not available for sale. Until 10 December 2025, visit our webshop and choose from three curated Packs, each combining different publications from our Performance in Residence Series and printed works, or opt for the Readers Open Pack, where you can mix and match your own selection of three Readers.
We are also thrilled to launch If I Can’t Dance’s most recent publication: the reader Bodies and Technologies, edited by Devika Chotoe. The reader compiles material from the If I Can’t Dance reading group in Amsterdam as part of Edition XI–Bodies and Technologies (2022–24). Please join us Saturday 13 December 2025 for the launch of the reader within the context of the VIVA VIVA – Rijksakademie Art Book Fair. Alongside Chotoe’s introduction to the publication, artist and book contributor Ciro Monoarfa Goudsmit will give a sound performance that continues his research into low frequencies shaking the muscles through vibrations; from relaxing the body by resonating the vagus nerve; humming the soulnerve; to, using silence as rhythm; and ask the body to fall into those gaps; to move muscles and delay into the imaginary.
Come say hi and check-out the small selection of If I Can’t Dance publications, printed matter and merchandise selected for VIVA VIVA at our booth in the fair!
Happy reads,
If I Can’t Dance Team
