In It Together! is officieel geopend! Na de feestelijke opening hebben we nog veel meer in petto: , live raamschilderen en een Arts Charade. Tot en met 13 december kun je de gratis bezoeken.
Maar zet vooral de Dead Darlings veiling in je agenda!
Op zaterdag 13 december verandert W139 in een heuse veilingzaal. Doe mee in twee biedrondes met maar liefst 84 kunstwerken. Alle verkopen verlopen anoniem: de namen van de kunstenaars worden pas onthuld nadat het werk is geveild.

Dead Darlings: zeefdruk workshops — woensdag 10 december, 14:00–18:00

Een speciale gegeven door Dead Darlings ontwerpster Lina Ozerkina, gratis en toegankelijk voor alle leeftijden. Neem je eigen T-shirt, hoody, kussensloop of draagtas mee, en als je met lege handen komt, hebben we witte T-shirts die je kunt kopen en waarop je kunt zeefdrukken!
Tijdens de op 10 en 11 december maakt Joe Miceli (Il Letterista) bovendien een live bij de entree van W139.
Veiling In It Together! — zaterdag 13 december, 16:00–21:00
Mis de spectaculaire Dead Darlings veiling niet: schrijf je hier in! Twee rondes met 84 kunstwerken om op te bieden, lekker eten en drinken, verrassende interventies én nog veel meer. Alle verkopen zijn anoniem: de namen van de kunstenaars worden pas onthuld nadat een werk is verkocht.
Bij elke aankoop van de catalogus krijg je een peddel gratis. Er wordt geveild in chronologische volgorde, dus blijf van begin tot eind — of kom gewoon even sfeer proeven!
Dead Darlings XX — In It Together! is mede mogelijk gemaakt door het Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst en Mondriaan Fonds.

Para-siting: phANTASMAL HAIRSALON
—17 en 19 december, 14:00–17:00
phANTASMAL HAIRSALON van Raoni Muzho Saleh met Karin Iturralde Nurnberg verandert W139 in een campy, draggy kapsalon. Maak een afspraak, laat je door de kapper een sculpturaal kapsel aanmeten en paradeer er vervolgens mee naar buiten. Met een van onze , fantastische hair-do’s of hair-don’ts tover je de straten om tot een campy en een brutaal drag-protest tegen een wereld.
Tijdens hun negende interventie in de toiletten van W139 presenteert Espacio Estamos Bienals onderdeel van FLUSH Pest Revenge: een sculpturale in W139 van de Rotterdamse kunstenaars Clem Edwards en Natalia Sorzano. Dit is de tweede editie van hun samenwerking, die in de zomer van 2024 begon met de Trash Revenge bij Brutus Rotterdam.
Deze editie bestaat uit een reeks sculpturen gemaakt van gevonden voorwerpen en materialen: sculpturen van dieren en insecten die als ongewenst en giftig worden beschouwd: ratten, duiven, muggen, parkieten, teken, kakkerlakken, bedwantsen en zilvervisjes. Kijk voor meer informatie op onze website.
Op maandag 15 december presenteert SNDO: D.R.E.D.G.E. van Elisa Zuppini en Toni Steffens, in samenwerking met muzikante Soraya Lutangu Bonaventura en SNDO 2 & 3 bij W139. Een programma met gastoptredens van Pauline de Groot en Thomas Lehmen.
D.R.E.D.G.E. onderzoekt mogelijkheden om zowel de wrijving tussen als de samensmelting van verschillende tijdzones vorm te geven. Dit proces, dat draait om het plezier van dans, is een experiment om en praktijken uit het verleden te testen.
Op 18 december lanceert Writing Our World (WOW) hun nieuwe publicatie Writing Our World – Graffiti Manifesto, uitgegeven door Ruyzdael Publishing. Het boek beschrijft de oorsprong van de WOW Crew, die eind jaren tachtig tijdens de eerste Europese graffitigolf in Amsterdam en Utrecht werd opgericht. De publicatie is een manifest dat 35 jaar vriendschap viert en markeert, met recent werk in woord en beeld.

Dead Darlings XX — In It Together!

In It Together! is officially open! After the festive opening, we have much more in store: screen printing workshops, live window painting, and an arts charade. You can visit the exhibition for free until 13 December.
But be sure to mark the Dead Darlings auction in your calendar! On Saturday 13 December, W139 will transform into a real auction house. Take part in two rounds of bidding with no fewer than 84 works of art. All sales are anonymous: the names of the artists will only be revealed after the work has been auctioned.
Dead Darlings: Silk-screening workshops — Wednesday 10 December, 14:00–18:00

The silk-screening workshop will be led by Dead Darlings designer Lina Ozerkina, free of charge and open to all ages. Bring your own shirt, tote-bag or anything else to silk-screen in black ink our anniversary title In it Together! If you come empty handed, we will have white t-shirts for you to purchase and silkscreen on. During the silk-screening workshop, Joe Miceli (Il Letterista) will be live painting the window at the entrance of W139!
Auction In It Together! — Saturday 13 December, 16:00–21:00
Don't miss the spectacular Dead Darlings auction: register here! Two rounds with 84 artworks to bid on, delicious food and drinks, surprising interventions and much more. All sales are anonymous: the names of the artists will only be revealed after a work has been sold.
Paddle is free with every purchase of the catalogue. The auction will be held in chronological order, so stay from start to finish — or just drop by to soak up the atmosphere!

phANTASMAL HAIRSALON by Raoni Muzho Saleh with Karin Iturralde Nurnberg, flips W139 into a fabulous draggy performative salon. Book an appointment, get crowned with a sculptural hairdo by the Hairstylist, a shady yet passionate character, and then strut it outside. Wearing our avant-garde fabulous hair-do or hair-don’t, you turn the streets into a campy moving exhibition, and a cheeky drag protest against a sterilised world.
During their ninth intervention at the toilets of W139, Espacio Estamos Bien presents Pest Revenge as part of FLUSH: a sculptural duo exhibition at W139 by artists Clem Edwards and Natalia Sorzano.
This is a new iteration of their collaboration, which began in the summer of 2024 at Brutus Rotterdam with the exhibition Trash Revenge.
This current revenge consists of a series of sculptures made from accessible and found objects and materials symbolizing animals and insects that are considered unwanted, invasive, toxic—rats, pigeons, mosquitos, parakeets, tics, cockroaches, bed bugs and silverfish. On Monday 15 December, W139 will host a special presentation by SNDO: D.R.E.D.G.E. by Elisa Zuppini and Toni Steffens, in collaboration with musician Soraya Lutangu Bonaventura and SNDO 2 & 3. A programme with guest appearances by Pauline de Groot and Thomas Lehmen.
D.R.E.D.G.E. explores possibilities for giving a body to both the friction and coalescence of different time zones interfering with one another. Revolving around the joy of dance, this process is an experiment in testing movement lineages and histories of practices.
On Thursday 18 December, Writing Our World (WOW) will launch their new book: Writing Our World – Graffiti Manifesto, published by Ruyzdael Publishing. The book traces the roots and convictions of the WOW Crew, formed in the late 1980s between Amsterdam and Utrecht —a manifesto of the crew’s camaraderie, with 80 pages of recent work, words and images rooted in the first European graffiti wave.
