19 April HOST(ILE) LANDS Exhibition at het Glazen Huis 19 April – 14 June 2026 Kumi Hiroi, Hangfeng Chen, Mariko Hori en Pan
When does a guest become an intruder? In Host(ile) Lands, Kumi Hiroi, Hangfeng Chen, Mariko Hori and Pan present new work about plant and animal species that are valued in their countries of origin but are considered invasive in the Netherlands. The exhibition opens on 19 April and closes on 14 June.
From their position as Asian artists living in the Netherlands, they explore the parallels between biological invasions and human migration. The exhibition raises questions about who is welcome, who is seen as an intruder, and how political and cultural perspectives determine who – or what – is allowed to occupy our lands. Read more here.
