Still on show: Wild Waters traces the entanglements between water and territorial exploitation
Throughout the summer you can still visit the exhibition Wild Waters: Dams and Deltas After Modernity at Framer Framed in Amsterdam-Oost. Curated by Àngels Miralda, Wild Waters examines water as both a resource and an instrument of political power, tracing the ways hydraulic have shaped landscapes, histories and systems of environmental exploitation across different geographies.
The exhibition traces the entanglements between water, colonial expansion and territorial exploitation through works by artists Jumana Emil Abboud, Suzette Bousema, Ewa Ciepielewska & Agnieszka Brzeżańska, Giovanni Giaretta, Adelita Husni-Bey, Anna Moreno, Suat Öğüt, Eunice Pais, Ashfika Rahman, Morteza Soorani, and Abdo Zin Eldin. Across their practices, ancient myths and contemporary struggles converge in the deltaic cultures of Bangladesh and the Ebro Delta, as well as along the Meuse, Vistula, Tajo and Tigris.
Wild Waters is on show until 30 August 2026. Entrance is free.

As part of the finissage weekend, we present a conversation between artists Jumana Emil Abboud and Areej Ashhab on the significance of water in the Palestinian landscape. Bringing together their artistic practices and long-standing engagement with questions of land, ecology, and place, the discussion explores how water shapes cultural memory, everyday life and the Palestinian landscape. The event also serves as a fundraiser for Palestine.

Wild Waters explores the dual nature of water as both a resource and vector for political power and environmental degradation across multiple contexts. Miralda is an independent curator and writer whose main research focuses on the connection between landscape and identity.

Meet the new fellows of Transitional Justice with Artists
From 364 applications, six artists have been selected for the TJA fellowship organised by Framer Framed, AFIELD and Arts of the Working Class. They were chosen for their long-standing commitment to combating injustice and violence: Aida Šehović, François Makanga, Mihaela Drăgan, Astrig Agopian, Luz María Sánchez and Yevheniia Moliar.

Secret Arts Teachers
Framer Framed presents Secret Arts Teachers, a group exhibition in which the classroom becomes part of the exhibition space.
From 11 to 27 September 2026, the exhibition will showcase the results of a collaboration with the Art Education research group at the Amsterdam University of the Arts, in which art teachers approach their teaching practice as an artistic workspace.
Framer Framed Noord is a space for art and culture in , where local knowledge, collective practices and artistic research come together. It is also the new home for Werkplaats Molenwijk, the project space that for almost seven years provided a venue for artists, art education and co-creation projects with local residents. Framer Framed Noord is located at Z369 – Social & Cultural Centre (Zuideinde 369, Amsterdam).

Every Monday, local residents get together in the sewing workshop. Participants work on their sewing, embroidery or textile projects. Local residents Reza and Sonya are on hand to help with any questions and to offer advice on techniques.

Call for new members of GROND
GROND is a new, artist-led initiative based at the Bajesdorp DIY housing co-operative in the Bajeskwartier. It provides a space for artists and activists to meet, create, exhibit and curate.
GROND is currently looking for new members to help shape this art initiative.
