We open the new season with ‘Upon Us After’, a group show with Amra Khan (PAK), Naira Mushtaq (PAK/UK) and Sehr Jalil (PAK/UK) tracing how objects, images and inherited histories change as they move through time, memory and power.
Later in the month, SAC Art Amsterdam will present works by Aditi Singh, Samanta Batra Mehta and Vihaan Surya Singh at NAP+ 2026, and in October we will host ‘JUGAAD: Absolute Improvisation’, an open call and printed matter fair developed in collaboration with Mama Magnet.

A Group Show with Amra Khan, Naira Mushtaq and Sehr Jalil

What remains after an image is fractured, a monument falls, a home disappears, or an object is separated from its original context?
‘Upon Us After’ brings together the works of Amra Khan, Naira Mushtaq and Sehr Jalil in an exhibition that considers the lives of objects beyond their immediate function or origin. The exhibition examines how monuments, archival fragments, domestic artefacts, devotional objects, images and inherited belongings become vessels through which histories travel across time, place and memory.

Amra Khan is an visual artist, researcher and educator based in Lahore. Her practice spans oils, acrylics, miniature painting, mixed media, textiles, repurposed wood and devotional objects, with a focus on gender, sexuality, intimacy, religion and spiritual selfhood. Read More
Naira Mushtaq is a artist and educator from Pakistan, currently living and working in London. Working primarily in painting, her practice deconstructs and reframes photographic and film archives through questions of history, memory, migration and social commentary. Read More
Sehr Jalil is a visual artist, researcher and educator. Working across painting, moving image, performance, writing and curatorial practice, she draws on family stories, everyday objects and archives to explore how intimate lives intersect with larger historical, political and institutional forces. NAP+is a boutique art fair dedicated to showcasing quality over quantity.
The third edition of NAP+ returns to De Centrale Markthal in the heart of Amsterdam. The fair offers a fresh, accessible alternative to the traditional art-fair model, with a focus on inclusivity, innovation and community.
For SAC Art Amsterdam, participating in NAP+ is an opportunity to bring three distinct South Asian artistic practices into the Dutch art ecosystem and a wider European fair context.
Aditi Singh, Samanta Batra Mehta and Vihaan Surya Singh differ markedly in medium and visual language. What connects them is a rigorous approach to form and a confident engagement with South Asian visual and intellectual traditions.
Aditi Singh is a contemporary South Asian artist whose practice is rooted in meditation and process. Her drawings are guided by breathwork and cyclical natural rhythms, exploring time, stillness, memory and connection. Read More
Samanta Batra Mehta is a self-taught artist who grew up in Bombay, India, and lives in New York, USA. Through multi-layered works, she reflects on the human condition and the environments we inhabit, considering identity, personal history, gender constructs, order and colonial history. Read More
Vihaan Surya Singh is a visual artist whose work explores the body as a microcosm for the world. Drawing from Indian mythological, philosophical and artistic traditions, he maps the deeply personal onto forms and stories drawn from a collective visual and narrative commons. Read More

Jugaad (n.): a fix, an improvised solution built from what’s on hand.
This open call is for artists and designers of printed matter and handheld or small-format works who engage with the spirit of jugaad, whether as their subject or as the thinking behind how the work was made.
We’re drawn to work that , reroutes and reimagines: the unconventional held to a high standard.
Selected work will join our printed matter fair on 9 - 10 October in Amsterdam. Ticket details coming soon.
We've had a great summer and are excited about what is coming up.
“This summer took me across India to the sā Ladakh Biennale 2026, where extraordinary land art unfolded across Ladakh’s breathtaking natural landscape, bringing art, place and scale into powerful dialogue.
In Bombay and while discovering various works between Kargil and Leh, I had incredible conversations with artists, curators, gallerists, collectors and art lovers. It's always a privilege to be able to do this. Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet me.
With a few weeks left of the summer, we are set to dive into our programme for Q3: a new show with three incredible artists from London and Lahore; NAP+, our first fair ever; 'Art of Happiness' with dear Nuthan of The Happiness Tour on 3/10 (details will follow!); 'Jugaad' withMama Magneton 9/10 and 10/10; and Chai and Conversations on 17/10 (stay posted).
We are especially thrilled to announce our final show for 2026: ‘Barzakh’, a solo by Riyas Komu. The show will open during Amsterdam Art Week, which we are also very happy to be a part of.
