Today I decided that I'm not going to try to do my inburgering before December 1. Instead I'll extend my current visa, nobody's told me that's not allowed. (Please inform me if I'm wrong, I've already done the 5 year extension once). Many shows upcoming. Preparing for a show pushes me to clean my house. I've put away some of the summer bags, not all of them. I bought a new cordless vacuum at Mire's behest. It counts the dust particles it eats. During Oscar's opening, a neighbor passed my new carpet cleaner through the window, and later that night I tested its function of shooting out hot water and sucking it up immediately, swampy and dirty. Today Louis (artist from this next show) told me he won't stay at mine while he's installing, which let me slump in relief to not need to try to make the shower more presentable to relative strangers. I had ordered an anti-kalk spray. Package got lost. Someone with a Japanese saw needs to help me deal with some wood in the shower. I keep thinking to type an ig story to ask for little renovation help. I can't bring myself to do it. If this newsletter becomes my avenue, I'd also ask: does anyone have tips for how to save a backup hard drive when it stops working? Any tips on doing curtains for the upstairs space?
The opening this Thursday will be very nice I think. Please come. Another upcoming unmissable is Bhanu Kapil at Proxy on Sep 26. It happens as we redo Rirkrit Tiravanija untitled 1990 (pad thai). I've started working again on this book project that I put aside from last year, of interviews, of low key reflections on studio, forms of recognition, theatricality, it's funded, so let me know if you want to publish or distribute it. Also, happy birthday to Tild! Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

bologna.cc is pleased to present a duo exhibition by Tild Greene & Louis Blue Newby, accompanied by a text by profit. Their new works propose variations on containment, straining and restraining materials from their site of origin. Newby’s dust works enlarge pornographic imagery by screenprinting Crisco and applying layers of fine dust from his domestic spaces in plexiglas frames. Greene replaces the sand of hourglasses with reclaimed fryer oil before suturing the parts back together, presenting surviving specimens as a series. The barely erotic results of their studio practice are pregnant with suggestion. Please join us for a reception to mark the occasion.
This project was developed with the support of AFK - Amsterdam Fonds voor de Kunst.
