In NDSM, it can be easy to feel on the outskirts of nature, or that nature is on the outskirts of us. We often situate nature elsewhere– in a potted plant or outside your window, far from the shipyard and shipping containers. What happens if we begin to recognize how nature exists within us? How nature makes the fabric of you and I: in memory, in cultivation, historic moments of environmental collapse, spilt wine and in the hemp field behind your home that was there all along, going unnoticed and ignored.
The artists from current exhibition Come Back To Your ___ (Nature/Culture) ask you to remember, by sight, smell and touch, how culture grows wherever nature is. Spend this month investigating your Nature/Culture at Treehouse NDSM.
On Friday, September 18th, we opened the doors to Art Park IV: Come Back to Your ___ (Nature/Culture). With this exhibition opening, we saw the stories and communities that shape our landscapes in a new light. Each work fills the exhibition space with sounds, smells and feelings that collaborate together to produce a landscape of its own. Come experience it for yourself until October 11th from Thursdays to Sundays, 13H-18H.
PARTICIPATING ARTISTS: Dewi van den Bossche, Alina Bielun, Stefania Rada Morariu, Dawid Dobosz, Kalliopi Ioumpa, Esther Kin, Rucha Kulkarni, Maya Erin Masuda, Monali Meher, Lena Longefay, Philip Ling.
